What is Aadhar Card?

Aadhar is a 12 digit unique identification number that is issued to all Indian residents based on their data and address. it basically serves as an identity proof that the person is a resident of India.

Online EAadhar Card Update and Correction (1st Method)

A person can update the details online if his phone number through which the aadhar card is linked is correct in the records by following the procedure below:

1) The first and foremost step is to log on to the official Aadhar self-service portal website i.e.            https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update

2) After going to the above link all you need to do is enter your Aadhar card number in the provided field
3) A text verification number is also to be filled correctly in order to generate OTP
4) Once the OTP is generated a message will pop up on your registered phone number and the same OTP will be required to access your Aadhar account
5) After that, you will be redirected to a page called “data update request” where the corrections will be made.
6) Update the required data carefully which you want to correct for future purposes as it will be reflected in your Aadhar details.
7) But in order to make the required changes, a valid proof is mandatory. for eg- in order to update the Date Of Birth section a valid birth certificate has to be attached in the “documents required” field.
8) At last but not the least the hectic work is done and all you need to do is select the BPO service provider(choose either aegis or Karvy) and hit submit for the next step.
9) Once the request is submitted successfully you, can download the copy of update verification and in a few days, the Aadhar will be updated.

Offline Aadhar Card Update and Correction (2nd Method)

  1. The correction of the aadhar through offline means is quite simple as all you need to do is download the aadhar card update/correction form from the official link i.e. https://uidai.gov.in/images/UpdateRequestFormV2.pdf .
  2. A person can also buy the form from the BPO service provider
  3. Once the form is received all you need to do is fill it according to your correction requirements and the instruction regarding the filling of the form are listed on the form itself in bold italics. so fill it carefully.

  • The copies of the documents must be attested by the person itself.
  • In case of a minor, the documents can be attested by the parents or guardian.
